TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Lead to scale our People function during a phase of rapid growth. You will shape TYTAN’s HR operations across Germany and Ukraine. You’ll drive all aspects of the employee lifecycle—while embedding our core values of innovation, autonomy, and impact into the foundation of how we work.

Your roadmap to make an impact

Implement and manage HR systems and tools (e.g., Personio) to streamline operations and enable data-driven decision-making
Develop and maintain HR policies, compensation frameworks, salary bands, and performance management processes
Design and lead learning and development initiatives that foster employee growth and strengthen organizational capabilities
Support recruitment efforts, particularly for technical and hard-to-fill roles
Ensure compliance with labor laws, particularly German regulations, while overseeing contract management and employment documentation across multiple jurisdictions
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing in collaboration with internal teams and external providers, with hands-on experience in DATEV or Personio Payroll preferred
Assist with international growth by supporting entity setup, cross-border hiring, and building scalable HR infrastructure

Who you are

4+ years of experience in Human Resources — ideally in a fast-scaling tech, defense, or industrial company
Proven track record in building and scaling HR function
Strong understanding of German labor law; Ukrainian HR knowledge is a plus
Hands-on experience with contract administration, payroll processing, and HR compliance
Strategic thinker with executional drive—you lead by doing
Deep belief in people as a company’s most valuable asset and a passion for building culture by design
Empathetic communicator who builds trust across diverse teams
Experienced with HR software (e.g., Personio) and modern people analytics
Fluent in both German and English
