TYTAN Technologies
TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.

We are looking for a new team member who is eager to make a real difference! As a Computer Vision & Deep Learning Engineer, you will develop and deploy real-time perception systems on our autonomous UAVs to enhance their target detection and situational awareness in critical missions.

Your roadmap to make an impact
  • Design and implement robust computer vision pipelines for UAV-based perception tasks, from data acquisition to real-time inference.
  • Configure and calibrate imaging sensors and vision hardware, ensuring precise and reliable camera systems for field deployment.
  • Deploy and fine-tune computer vision systems on edge devices (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson) for real-time onboard processing.
  • Leverage classical computer vision techniques (e.g., multiple-view geometry, epipolar geometry, SLAM, structure-from-motion) to complement deep learning pipelines.
  • Develop, train, and optimize deep learning models for object detection, tracking, and classification across multiple sensor modalities (RGB, thermal, etc.).
  • Evaluate and integrate off-the-shelf computer vision modules where applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and autonomy teams to ensure seamless integration of perception systems with UAV platforms.
  • Collect and annotate real-world data from diverse environments, conduct performance evaluations, and drive iterative improvements.
  • Work directly with end users and mission partners to understand operational needs and ensure robust deployment in dynamic real-world scenarios.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation through field experience and user feedback, translating them into actionable R&D efforts.
Who you are
  • Degree in Computer Vision, Robotics, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience (academic or industry).
  • Deep understanding of imaging sensors, lens systems, and camera configuration and calibration workflows.
  • Solid background in both classical computer vision and modern deep learning-based approaches.
  • Proven experience building and deploying vision pipelines on embedded/edge devices (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson family), with a focus on performance, latency, and power constraints.
  • Familiarity with thermal imaging, multi-modal sensor fusion, and dataset generation/augmentation strategies.
  • Experience working with real computer vision hardware and sensors (stereo, IR, LiDAR, depth cameras, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience using vision-focused frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorRT, OpenCV, ROS, GStreamer and NVIDIA DeepStream.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with C++ and Python, demonstrated through the development of robust applications, performance optimization, and practical problem-solving in real-world projects.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, high-stakes environment where field-testing and real-world constraints shape development.
  • Strong software engineering practices: clean code, version control (Git), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with an ability to iterate quickly under time pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel for testing, integration, and mission deployments.
  • Proficiency in English; German knowledge is a plus.
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with sensor fusion and probabilistic perception (e.g., Kalman filters, Bayesian filtering).
  • Knowledge of UAV-specific challenges such as motion blur, dynamic range, or low-light perception.
  • Experience in deploying perception pipelines in ROS-based robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with defense/military or high-security applications, and a keen understanding of operational constraints in those contexts.
