TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.
We are seeking a driven and hands-on External Production Unit Manager to lead and optimize our external manufacturing operations, particularly in Ukraine. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in cross-functional, international environments and is excited about building and scaling UAV production systems. As a key player in our operations network, you will ensure seamless production planning, robust quality control, and alignment with our broader supply chain team as well as our local partners.

Your roadmap to make an impact

Lead operations planning and production control for external production units (EPUs) in Ukraine, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Drive the setup and ramp-up of new EPUs, establishing production processes, KPIs, and governance structures.
Implement and continuously improve quality management systems to meet internal and external compliance standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to translate design and product requirements into scalable production processes at partner sites.
Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives across EPU processes, using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Align with Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Procurement teams to ensure stable material flow and capacity planning at the Ukraine factory.
Serve as the key operational interface between the local manufacturing partner and Tytan.
Monitor performance and compliance of external units through regular audits and performance reviews, ensuring adherence to contracts and SLAs.

Who you are

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management, supplier operations, or external manufacturing environments.
Proven expertise in setting up and managing third-party production or contract manufacturing operations.
Strong understanding of quality systems, production planning, and supply chain integration.
Experience in operating in Eastern European or Ukrainian industrial environments is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
Passion for building and scaling production networks that combine quality, efficiency, and agility.
Strong sense of ownership and excitement for cross-border collaboration and operational excellence.
Drive to build robust, transparent, and future-proof production ecosystems in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Motivation to work in a fast-paced, transformative environment with a high level of responsibility and autonomy.
Fluent in English, German is beneficial
